The mission of the Green Convene is to advocate sustainability through coalition building and by harnessing the power of Louisville’s environmental community.
Year Founded - 2009
Significant Accomplishments
- February 2009 -- 250 people attended the first Green Convene event to unite the community in support of a sustainable Louisville.
- October 2010 -- The Green Convene partnered with the American Institute of Architects at Bellarmine University to showcase sustainability successes in an engaging program focusing on climate change, green building design, local foods, land conservation, transportation, and more.
- Monthly Community meetings -- The Green Convene hosts a community meeting on the second Tuesday of each month from 6:30-7:30 pm at the Clifton Center in Louisville. Topics and speakers vary each month to address a broad cross-section of local sustainability issues.
- Leadership and Coalition Building -- The Green Convene continues to partner with other groups to provide leadership and promote sustainability in Louisville.
