Legislative & Policy Work

The Kentucky Sustainable Energy Alliance works to promote clean, sustainable and affordable energy solutions for Kentucky.  An important part of this work is advocating for good energy legislation to be passed by the Kentucky Legislature in the 2010 General Assembly.

 

The Kentucky Sustainable Energy Act is a package of policy changes that will put Kentucky on the path of increasing energy efficiency, developing a new market for renewable energy production, creating new clean energy jobs for Kentuckians, increasing public health and environmental protection, and helping Kentuckians cope with future electricity price increases--especially our most vulnerable citizens.

Randy's run Randy's run

Clay County, Kentucky resident Randy Wilson ran for the board of his electric cooperative on a platform of affordable energy, better energy choices, and good local jobs in 2009. Randy was the first person to oppose a sitting Jackson Energy board member since the co-op was founded in 1938. Before running for office, Randy was an active member of the Kentuckians For the Commonwealth’s Canary Leadership Network carrying a message throughout the region about the need to transition away from coal and towards clean energy.
