KFTC members are excited to be part of this alliance because we understand that Kentucky must begin to transition towards a clean energy future. For years we’ve worked to address the problems that stem from Kentucky’s dependence on coal, including harm to our air, water, land and people. Being a part of KySEA is a way to work on the solutions to Kentucky’s environmental, economic, and energy challenges. Together we can build new power in Kentucky!

Legislative & Policy Work

The Kentucky Sustainable Energy Alliance works to promote clean, sustainable and affordable energy solutions for Kentucky.  An important part of this work is advocating for good energy legislation to be passed by the Kentucky Legislature in the 2010 General Assembly.

 

The Kentucky Sustainable Energy Act is a package of policy changes that will put Kentucky on the path of increasing energy efficiency, developing a new market for renewable energy production, creating new clean energy jobs for Kentuckians, increasing public health and environmental protection, and helping Kentuckians cope with future electricity price increases--especially our most vulnerable citizens.

Save money, create good jobs. Save money, create good jobs.

9,000 clean energy jobs could be created in Eastern Kentucky and save Eastern Kentucky Power Cooperative (EKPC) customers money. Folks from throughout EKPC’s service area and beyond have joined in efforts to persuade the power company to make planning decisions that would create these good, green jobs.
